I’m watching the nights drawing in, watching change happen all around me - my life, the seasons, local and international, especially following events in New York recently.
I feel a need to do something positive to make a difference in the world around me. I love my work and part of that is helping people to make a change in their lives, sharing the tools that people can use to make a difference in their own lives.
My intention is to produce a newsletter that contains information and inspiration.
 A Great Story
The following has been taken out of a Reiki manual (and lifted by me from Spectrum, the British Wheel of Yoga journal):
"In Autumn, when you see geese heading south for the winter flying along in ‘V’ formation, you might consider what science has discovered as to why they fly that way. As each bird flaps its wings it creates an uplift for the bird immediately following. By flying in ‘V’ formation the whole flock adds at least 71% greater flying range than if each bird flew on its own.
People who share a common direction and sense of community can get where they are going more guickly and easily if they are travelling on the thrust of one another.
When a goose falls out of formation it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of trying to go it alone and quickly gets back into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird in front.
If we have as much sense as a goose we will stay in formation with those who are headed the same way we are.
When the head goose gets tired it rotates back in the wing and another goose flies point.
Geese honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. What message do we give when we honk from behind?
Finally, and this is important, when a goose gets sick or is wounded by gunshot and falls out of formation two other geese fall out with that goose and follow it down to lend help and protection. They stay with the fallen goose until it is able to fly or until it dies and only then do they launch out on their own or with another formation to catch up with their group.
If we have the sense of a goose we will stand by each other like that."
 Flower Essences
(Essence of the month: Infinite Peace, Infinite Love, atomiser)
I have been using Light Heart Flower Essences in my practice for some time now and I’m very impressed with them.
Flower essences are vibrational catalysts containing the energetic imprint of the life-force of flowering plants or trees. They inspire us to find healing in our lives, encouraging us to love and care for ourselves and each other; to maintain our integrity and self-esteem and to live our lives fully, fearlessly and peacefully. (Rose Titchner)

 Some interesting research(1)
The Effects of Cranial Manipulation Upon Ryodoraku Acupuncture Meridians, Robert Chadwick D.O.
Unpublished work of a graduate student at Michigan State University. Dr Chadwick used the classical Japanese Ryodoraku electrical measurement methods to evaluate acupuncture meridian millivoltages before and after the application of CranioSacral Therapy. Dr Chadwick found that on 10 patients, without exception, CranioSacral Therapy moved all meridian imbalances toward the desired balance
Right Brain, Left Brain Asymetry, Norma J. Gilmore, Ed.D. ACLD Newsbriefs, July-August 1982.
Dr. Gilmore performed the Upledger-designed 10-Step CranioSacral Protocol on 20 learning-disabled children once weekly for six weeks. She reports that all 20 learning disabled children improved from below average to either average or good in their reading skills over the six week period.
Dr. Gilmore has had no medical or pre-medical training. She learned to apply the 10-Step Protocol by rote. She is living proof that, when properly taught, CranioSacral Therapy can be applied effectively to needy children by a person who lacks any type of healthcare background. Dr. Gilmore performed the CranioSacral therapy as "Upledger Relaxation Technique".

 What’s happening
I will be joining Ann Elton and Yvonne Herrington to present the Body, Mind & Spirit Experience on the 14 October in the Culver Room, Farnham Library on Saturday 13 October 10am - 1pm. The cost of the morning is £15 and tickets are available from West Street Clinic, Farnham, Tel: 01252-734670.
The morning will start with coffee and biscuits and a chance to meet everyone. We will begin with a talk and demonstration of CranioSacral Therapy, finding your inner physician and learning to feel your craniosacral rhythm. You can then learn how to give a neck and shoulder massage and receive one. Essential oils will be available if you choose to try them. The morning finishes with self healing and relaxation techniques including visualisation and a guided meditation.
Peace vigils are being held around the globe. Many individuals, groups and organisations are holding the peace of the planet at the moment, in many different forms. I feel it significant that each one of us can play our part in whatever way feels right, no matter how small. If you would like to share your thoughts or contributions in the next newsletter please contact me.
I will be working at the West Street Clinic in Farnham every Thursday from 1 November.
I will be giving talk to Ancells Farm Clinic staff on the mouth, teeth and jaw in October. Please contact me if you would like me to give a talk of any kind to your group, organisation or school.

 The Moon
The current phase of the moon is named the Harvest or Blood moon (from new moon on the 17 September, waxing to the full moon on the 2 October, then waning to new moon on the 16 October). The 21 September marked the autumn equinox; a time of celebration of the harvest fruits and dwindling summer. This is a time, according to the old wisdom, for ..…. letting go; inner cleansing; justice and balance; inner harmony.
The new moon on the 16 October brings us the phase of the Hunters moon or the Moon of the Dead. This moon phase ends with the new moon on the 15 November. The 31 October is Halloween or the pagan Samhain/soul-day/the day of the dead (Mexico). This is a time for ……… release; remembering, communion with the dead; prophesy and releasing old negative memories and emotions.
