Grange Lodges is currently a vision and we are in the planning stages.
We have yet to locate the land.
The Vision
It will be a unique 10 acre patch of rural English woodland offering a number of different but related facilities. The Grange Park ethic is:
to be able to live and to be in an environmentally sustainable community with the intention to minimize our footprint on the planet and to contribute back into the environment and society.
Throughout the site, the structures will be of wood from sustainable sources. In line with the Park ethic, where possible renewable and sustainable energy sources will be used - like solar power, photovoltaic electric generation and geothermal heat sinks, along with grey / rain water storage and usage. Excellent thermal insulation means that heating costs are reduced.
Holiday-Let
There will be five holiday-let properties aimed at the middle to higher end of the market. Those people wanting peace and quiet, with complementary and naturopathic therapies - massage, sauna, jacuzzi, yoga and excellent coffee. There will also be woodland walks available.
Semi-Retirement Units
There will be a maximum of fifty units in a secure, gated community. It is aimed at the over 50s who share the Park ethic. There will be a range of sizes of units available which residents will be able purchase, with various options for furnishings and facilities.
Yoga Hall
The yoga hall will be for around 25 students. Classes will be given by the owner and local yoga teachers. It will also be a regional venue for yoga classes and seminars. In addition the hall can be used for similar activities like martial arts and dance.
Therapy Rooms
The treatment rooms will be fully fitted and equipped and offer a wide range of complementary and naturopathic therapies like massage, craniosacral therapy and Reiki. All therapies will be offered by trained and qualified therapists. These therapies will be offered by the site owner and local therapists who will rent space. In addition there will be a sauna and a jacuzzi in the main complex.
Coffee Shop / Bakery - “The Meeting Place”
The coffee shop will be in the European continental tradition. This will be based on high quality espresso coffees and steamed milk, and seating for around 35 indoors. There will be a good range of coffees and other beverages in line with a European coffee shop. In addition there will be a simple bakery producing breads and related products as well as specialist flour breads. This will also be a place where local artists can display and sell their work.
