 Greetings
The trouble I had sending out the March newsletter spurred me to make some radical changes - well Dale actually. We've changed our email to Outlook for this purpose so I trust that all will go smoothly from now on. Please let me know if anything does go wrong. You also should not receive multiple copies. In honour of this change we now have a new look to the newsletter. I have had some very positive and appreciative feedback about the contents - and I thank you.
I gave a talk in April to the Guildford Cancer Self Help Support Group on CranioSacral therapy. We had a lovely informal afternoon discussing CST. I also gave a demonstration - nothing like experiencing it yourself.
Thank you for sharing this email with your friends and colleagues. As well as forwarding to your friends, you may reprint any tip in your newsletters and message boards providing you include full authorship, copyright, and subscription information.

“I am SO happy to be able to share my success story with you. I was taking antidepressants for a couple of years for what was called "situational depression." I hated every moment of it and I didn't get any real, consistent relief for my depression.
I never knew what kind of day I was going to have depression-wise. But I continually felt that I wasn't
"clinically" depressed - that there must be something else to it.
While doing research about depression on the 'net, which led me to one of Dr. Weil's message boards, I read something about CranioSacral Therapy (CST). I was desperate to find an alternative to anti-depressants because of all of the side effects that I experienced - memory problems, nonexistent libido, flat-lined emotional state. So I looked into CST.
The message on the message board specifically stated that if one had had an accident of some sort that may have compressed the spine from, say, a blow to the sacrum, or may have hit the back of the head or forehead, that this could cause an interruption in the flow of vital fluids that circulate throughout the spinal column and around the brain. This circulation carries serotonin and other vital compounds to your brain.
Two years earlier, I had an accident roller-blading. I fell and landed directly on my tailbone. After the accident it felt as if I was sitting on a grapefruit for about a month, then it was suddenly better. Some
time later I began feeling depressed.
I found a CST therapist through The Upledger Institute ….. I saw her for five sessions. I no longer have to take ANY antidepressants and have not had to do so for over a year!
I cannot tell you how happy I am to not have to take any more meds or wonder what kind of day I am going to have when I wake up each morning. I would love to tell everyone about my experience!
Thank you so much for your work and your techniques. I hope you can feel even a smidge of how grateful and happy I am that you have given me back my life.” Ref: www.massagetoday.com

From New Approaches to Cancer Newsletter - Hands On
If there is a message shining through the cancer story, it's for more trust and team work between patient and practitioner. The holistic approach to life, in which body, mind and spirit are intertwined, does not relate to cancer alone. But the emotive power of cancer cloaks it in a special kind of responsibility. Since we tend to give it pride of place, let it be a shop window for a more positive view of health, in which the important factor is how we live; not why we die. That is the way to undermine cancer's hold on us.
Excerpt from New Approaches Green Booklet
Friends of the Earth has conducted research on retailers to find out who is taking most action to reduce their use of risky chemicals. Ikea, Body Shop, Marks & Spencer, B&Q and Co-op came top of the table. ( www.foe.co.uk/campaigns/safer chemicals/press for change/league table)

Life Coaching :
Do you stay in life's slow lane, content with the status quo, attached to your comfort zone? If you do, it might prevent you from getting into the real zone, where the universe blesses you with grace, success and greater income. “To the degree we're not living our dreams, our comfort zone has more control of us than we have over ourselves,” wrote Peter McWilliams. So, which zone do you want to live in - the seductive comfort zone where your life is really about just coasting - or the liberating zone, where your actions carry a gift of grace beyond what you normally could accomplish on your own?
Remember your New Year's resolutions? Have you checked on them recently? Have you accomplished those you set out to accomplish by this date? If not, what do you need to set in motion to accomplish them? Do you need support to do so?

Green Health Watch
“Pollution Protectors : US research has shown that both vitamins C and E can protect the lungs against the effects of environmental pollution. Vitamin C was better at protecting against some gases, while vitamin E was better against others. Used together they were found to help prevent bronchitis, asthma and emphysema by protecting against damage to the lung lining.”
Foods high in vitamin C: blackcurrants, parsley, kale, broccoli, green peppers and brussel sprouts. Foods high in vitamin E: wheatgerm, soya bean and sunflower oils.
Ref: (941) Alternatives in Health 1.12.95 p 12
“Plants as 'pollution hoovers' : Researchers have discovered that certain tropical and flowering plants reduce concentrations in the air of the `big bad three' pollutants formaldehyde, benzene and trichloroethylene by up to 90%. To give three examples: spider plants and Boston ferns have a taste for formaldehyde; peace lilies absorb trichloroethylene; and English ivy and chrysanthemums eat up benzene.
Plants literally `hoover up' air pollutants, including cigarette smoke and possibly radon, whilst microbes around plant roots destroy harmful viruses, bacteria and chemicals.”
